Devotional 8/29/20
When people can watch someone mock the disabled, degrade women, lie over 22,000 times on camera, refuse to follow safety guidelines, praise racism and bigotry, allow a pandemic to kill over 170,000 people, and place their own interests above the people they're called to serve, yet they still decide to support them, there's a major concern. Disagreeing on policies and perspectives is one thing, but disregarding the humanity of all of the people you serve is a different issue. Some will argue that a leader's heart doesn't matter, however, that's not what God says. 1 Samuel 13:14 (NLT), "But now your kingdom must end, for the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart. The LORD has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD’s command.” God does not look for a perfect person, but He does look for someone who is humble enough to listen. Brothers and sisters, stop arguing with folks, and go vote. God bless!
